Welcome to Maunu School, a contributing (Year 0-6) primary school established in 1884. The school occupies an area of 3.36 hectares, attractively set out with mature stands of trees and expansive lawns and fields bordered with historic stone walls. From rural beginnings, Maunu can now be classified as predominantly an urban school, with over 95% of its children coming from within the Whangarei City boundary. However, being on the edge of the city, it retains its rural atmosphere.
